I've read that it's not real good to feed dog food as it doesn't have the right amount of protein that hedgies need. You'll want to stick to a high quality cat food. Royal Canin SLim 38 and Chicken Soup for Cats seem to be the current favorites. And definately give mealworms and/or crickets if they are available to you. Hedgehogs are insectivores by nature and they need the protein and chitin that insects provide.

Check out some other posts in this section of the forum and I think you'll find a lot of good info. Happy hedgehogging!

Like Q-Berts mom said, Royal Canin slim 38 and Chicken Soup for the cat lovers soul lite are two good foods. There are others that are good also and I'll let Sarah give you the list. ;)

It is not essential that they have mealworms in fact mealworms are fattening and too many are not good. Their main diet should be a mix of cat foods. Dog foods are not good and mealies and crickets given as treats, not their staple food.
