Urban legand but great cookies... I call them needless markup cookies LOL
Heres the story behind it....
a lady went to a neiman marcus cafe for lunch inbetween stressful shopping. She tried these amazing cookies there and asked the waitress for the recipee. The waitress said she couldnt give her the recipee but she could buy it. She asked how much and the lady told her it was only 2. She said that it was ok for the waitress to charge her neman marcus account. Well at the end of the month when she opened her bill she flipped. There it was charge neiman marcus cookies - $200! She tried everything to revoce the charges but since they had already mailed her the recipee and she had already received it there was nothing that could be done. They said even sending it back wouldnt do anything because she could copy it down.
So in her vengance she e-mailed it to every person that she knew. Enjoy......

NEIMAN-MARCUS COOKIES (Recipe may be halved)
2 cups butter
24 oz. chocolate chips
4 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
5 cups blended oatmeal
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine
powder.
Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and
vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt,
baking powder, and soda.
Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar, and nuts. Roll
into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie
sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Makes 112 cookies.
