How to get a license to breed hedgehogs?? indiana

HI!

Can anyone tell me how I find out how I can get a breeders license in the state of Indiana??? I am getting my hedgehogs in a week, not planning on breeding them until they are of proper age, but I wanted to know how to find out who I call to get this License and what is all involved in the process! Anyone that can help, please email me or post here! Thanks again!

May I ask why you are interested in breeding your hedgies?

Are these your first hedgehogs? You should really gain experience with hedgehogs before beginning to breed. I can't think of any good breeders that rushed into it. I agree totally with Sarah about owning hedgies for a year or more before deciding to breed.

Also before you even think about it make sure you have a good bank account to cover any emergencies that may come up. Don't ever assume you won't need it. I am proof that you might. :)

Definitely good advice. You may also want to see if there is a licensed breeder in your area to mentor you for a year.
