Im switching to Vellux and I know the shavings will be missed by Hoghedge so would cutting several small strips of vellux be ok for him to experiment with?
Im not sure if it would but its a pretty neat idea. but if you did it might be a little bit troublesome when it comes to washing unless you wanna spend around 25 dollars every few weeks for new vellux.

Sure it will work. I have a box of strips and squares to play in and mine love it.
To wash, just get one of those net bags like is used for pantyhose and delicates etc. Just pick out any poop and put the pieces in there and toss in the washer and dryer. :)

You beat me to it Teasel's Mom, I was going to suggest the net bag for washing.
well now the washing thing is settled that sounds like a really good idea. Im still debating on whether i should switch to vellux or not.

I use vellux and I love it. Between band practice and competitions, school, babysitting, and homework I am very busy and using the vellux helps alot. I just pop the dirty liners into the washing machine and I can do other stuff while they are being cleaned. I used to spend alot of time cleaning out shavings and while she had mites, I had to shred newspapers. The only thing that I don't like about vellux is that it does nothing for odor control. Other than that, vellux is great.

I have recently changed over to Vellux also. But, I am still using shavings in Odo's bedroom area. (She has a three room condo) She still likes to burrow down deep in shavings to sleep but dosen't seem to mind the Vellux at all. I am going to cut up some small strips for her other "rooms" and see what happens.
