To Vet or not to Vet

My 8 wk old female is definitley quilling. Losing quills at play time, or even on her cuddle blankie. I can see tiny tips of quills coming through on her little pink skin. Her skin looks nice and soft and not dry at all anywhere at all. I have had her for one week and she is constantly itching while she runs around during play time. :| She doesn't start scratching immediately, just after running around for a bit, but then it's pretty much non stop? :( Do you think she has mites and should be taken to the vet? Or should I wait and see if it continues after she appears to have finished quilling. Vet check here with an experienced Hedgie vet that i found (with much research) is $48.00 and depending on the mites she may carry (apparantly there are different types) :Pukey: they will give her an injection or use Revolution for approx $20.00.
