Well, it has been a blast having my own hedgehog. My little girl Reiko passed today. Im starting to think that she had been sickly since I bought her from the pet store, but was too inexperienced to know that she might have been sick. Sad to say that I came home today and she was completely limp in her little pigloo, perhaps actually having gotten too warm from her heating pad. Did everything I could to save her, but in the end she faded in my hands. I was just at the petstore where I got her (and because of her baby incident everyone knows me) telling everyone that she was around a year old today, and when I got back, found out that was also her last day.
Anyways its been a blast having her, and extremely sad to see her pass, but I do somewhat wonder how healthy she actually was now. Thanks for all the support though. Best of luck with your little prickly pals, I will miss mine :)

While she was probably the tamest hedgehog I have ever seen (though I guess that number isnt many, but I have seen her kids, and the others at the petstore) and I loved her dearly, I dont think a hedgie could fill her place again. I had her cage under my bed and every hour or so I look under my bed to go and play with her for a few min (she loved to be out for 5-10 min and then crap all over me) but her cage has been moved to my roommates room, who got one of the babies. He doesnt give his much of the time of day, and I have found myself playing with his a lot but I dont think there will be another 'Reiko'. I have Shadow(roomies hog) to play with when I need a hedgies companionship, but I think I will give it some time, and am considering a sugar glider.
I had her for a year, and the little girl I had helped a ton with my depression, and when she died it was like a ton of bricks. I have had hamsters, but never got as attached to them as her. She will be missed, and I am so glad I have pictures from when I first got her, and baby pics to remember her. I never thought I would have been this upset over a hedgehog, but it sucks.
Thanks for the support, keep up the good work!
