*shrugs* I've noticed that, too. Maybe women are more likely to want to get together and talk about their pets? I mean, really, women are the only people I've ever known who could get excited talking about healthy poo! A few weeks ago had a phone conversation with my mom that touched on the subject and all the guys in the room seemed to get a little squeemish. :lol: I haven't visited many other pet (or small pet) boards so I don't know if the distribution here is normal.

EDIT: Okay, to be fair, I don't think "excited" is quite the right word. Still, it's a pretty popular topic!

I got 2 hegdie and I am a guy to...I think a lot of womens like hedgie because they are cute and all. I just like any kind of exotic pets ! I am More into reptiles.(chameleon, geckos etc...)(I see you are into lizards to ododad) womens don't always like these kind of pets ! lol eheh :laugh:

I don't have a hedgie, but I am getting one soon. And Taco is a boy with a hedgie. :) There was a poll on here a while ago to see how many more women there were than men. I think it was something like: For every guy, there were like 20 women. LOL

I've noticed that with a lot of animal boards, the majority of posters are women. Maybe women are more likely to get involved with a community or maybe they're just more likely to buy an animal in a first place. Not to be sexist or anything, but most women are more "nurturing" so to speak than most men, so they buy lots of critters to love; like little babies. I'm glad to know someone else has noticed this though, I was worried I was being to analytical. :rolleyes:

I am a woman, and have no problem with reptiles. Well, to clarify, reptiles WITH legs. I like lizards, but snakes give me the willies. I currently share my house with 4 bearded dragons, 13 leopard geckos, and a jeweled skink. I have a new pet frog and 3 lizards coming tomorrow. Not sure what kind the lizards are, they are from an individual who got them in a rescue situation and doesn't know anything about them. Keep fingers crossed that I don't get any major unexpected surprises. ;)
