 I just got my hedghog like two days ago anyways i had him out today and i noticed that he has a little bit of dry skin and i think that he might be quilling ( well almost done quilling ) I read some where that for dry skin you could use olive oil, i was just wondering if this is true , if so how do I apply it to his skin if not what else should i use??

i have the same question for Taria. i gave her a bath cause she went CRAZY last night. she was very itchy. i also put vitamine E cream on her skin with her oatmeal bath.

I prefer to give them a bath in Aveeno (or some other oatmeal based soap) and then drop about 2-3 drops of Vitamin E oil (from a capsule) on their back. The Aveeno helps soothe their skin, and the Vitamin helps to keep it soft and will promote healing as well.

Kalandra: that is excellent advice. In larger mammals we add olive oil to their food to help with the skin. Fish oil also helps along with flax seeds or flax seed oils. I would try Kalandra's ideas first before I started feeding supplements.
