My new boy Tony is very vocal unlike Cleo, who has never made a pop, hiss, or growl. Tony makes very loud clicks but doesn't pop that much. He also makes this odd noise that I assume is a growl since his does it in between hissing. He only does this in his cage cuz he must consider it "his space". Anyways it actually kinda sounds like a fart more than a growl..lol So is this a growl or some other kind of noise?

If it sounds like a low/deep rumbling, then it's probably him growling. Maybe your boy just has a very unique growl- cause Bosco's has never sounded like farting hehe :)

Bosco growls sometimes when he is really PO'd. Its rather funny actually because he will growl, and then I will look at him and say "Boscorelli.." and then his little face will peak up, like he knows he has been a bum. It is just too cute!

My boy is about 4 months so I asssume is done quilling? I'm not positive though. As for his growl I am pretty sure now that what he was doing was growling, it did sound like a deep rumbling, but since I'm hard of hearing I probably am not hearing most of it..so to me is sounds like a fart/growl..lols My girl huffs a lot but has never made a single noise besides a huff. I guess she's not too talkative :)

Quillson used to make that growl when he'd be interrupted on his wheel. It's been ages since he's done it though...

My little one growls too, but mostly when I am in her cage with my hand and she is on or around her wheel. It does not appear to be aggressive to me, but then I am not a hog so how should I know. it almost seems as though she does it as a greeting or some such thing. anyway it is very cute and I don't mind a bit.

Boy, Marco growls! When I put my hand near his food, when I put my hand in there to feel his tummy or when I put my hand in there when he is wheeling. It is a very loud growl too. As soon as I touch him, he stops though and never seems to be agressive. He chirps too. Like a little bird. Usually when he is eating.

Marco sounds cute :) Tony doesn't chirp but he makes a tiny squeeking noise when he's "exploring". I can't tell if it's him sniffing a lot or if it's coming from his throat but it sure is cute :)

I guess the "chirp" sound I hear him make could also be called squeeking. Yeah, squeeking comes closer to describing it. Yeah, I like that better. Marco is sure a little handful! From reading some of your other post, it sounds like Tony is a handful too!

Alina often "whistles" when she is exploring (really, it sounds like a stuffy nose kind of whistling, but she's not stuffed up.) She occasionally "chirps" and I think she has growled once or twice. The later noises are so brief and done so infrequently, I never remember them well enough to describe well. :(
