Hedgehog Color Crosses (http://geocities.com/hedgehogcolors/colorcrosses.html)
The table at the link above shows the colors possible from pairing any two base colors.
The genes on this page are not those recognized by the IHA, but are standardized mammal color genetics.

your site's bandwidth has been depleted for the hour. It went down while I was looking at it.
I like the way you refer to snowflake as 'roan'. My knowledge of color genetics is mainly of horses. Horsebackriding being my first passion. (See obligatory picture of gorgeous horseypoo here- http://www.angelfire.com/art/kaiteedyd/main/photos/paisley/paisleybdayweb.jpg) I also like how you compare genes in hedgehogs to genes in other animals. Pinto is a pinto is a pinto, doesn't matter what type of animal. Dogs have paint genes, as do horses, as do hedgehogs. It is just called different things by the different groups. Parti-colored for dogs, paint for horses (though there are four different types of paint patterns in equines; splash, frame, tobiano and sabino) pinto for hedgehogs.
Anyways roan is a fairly common gene in horses. Though there are several types of roan. Classic roan is what most people visualize when they hear 'roan'. Ofcourse in horses homozygous roan is lethal.
My question to you is, when you say roan do you mean roan like in horses? and if so why is there such a scale in the amount of white quills seen in Snowflakes? and I don't really understand about snowflake making what you refer to as the blue gene more visible. In horses diluted animals, say a palomino for example, it is harder to tell if it is roan because they are so light to begin with.
and since all hedgehogs are agoutis, how can we breed for none agouti? If every animal is homozygous agouti I would have to say barring any mutations, we will never see a true black hedgehog. Unless the brandt's hedgehog can be crossbred with our hedgehogs to introduce a none agouti allele.
I babbled, I'm sorry, I tend to do that.
