Hello all,
My name is John (online nickname Dmetri Xavier), and I live in Moreno Valley, CA. I have been in the group for the past few weeks, reading up on chins and looking out for one of my own. I have always been interested in them since helping a friend of mine care for hers while she was out of town, but never thought that I could actually afford the price of one (they were always over $200 a piece at Petsmart and everywhere else I looked).
A couple of days ago, I found a post by Bubblemonkey asking someone to take hers off her hands as she was not able to devote as much time to them as they needed. So I made arrangements to purchase hers with all of the accoutrements, and viola! I am now the proud papa of two standard gray females, mother and daughter. Their original names were not used much, so I am re-naming them Solei and Luna.
They are very different in temperment. Solei, the mother is very shy and not as outgoing as her daughter Luna. I am hoping that with some TLC that she will become a little more outgoing and friendly, but it's okay for me if she doesn't. Little Luna is just adorable, and she actually came out of her cage last night and let my wife hold her!
A little more about me... I am 26 years old, I am also the proud parent of my son Geordyn who is five, my dogs Max (13), Autumn (5), Colby (5), and my cats Princess Evita (9), Skyler (6), Mandie (5), and Willow (1), my son's hamster Foamy, my rabbit Marble (4), and a beta fish named Dennis.
Other interests include reading, writing, costume design and historical reenactment.
That's about it for me. You might see me pop in with a few questions here and there, so there you go...
