As some of you may know Jerry the Chinchilla was sick and did pass away last night.. Sad. Not shocking, but still sad. Below is a letter I wrote to him as I held during one of our last sittings.
Jerry,
I am going to muss you more than you know. You have been with me for 7 years which is more than a 1/4 of my life. You have lived with me through 2 states and mulitple states of my life. You are a true friend regardless of shape you take. You have provided unconditional love for the price of a raisin. I do no have many friends in life, but I consider you one. I hope you have not been in pain and enjoyed the time we spent together. Sleep Well. If there is a heaven, I look forward to seeing you there. Say hi to Punky (my guinea pig growing up) and your family. I love you and will never forget you or be able to replace you
Love,
Your Friend
Joshua
I've decided to donate his cage to an animal shelter (if I can find one that takes chinchilla stuff). Hug your pets or family for me today.

I am so sorry :( . But don't donate the cage after you spent all that time making it! Get another chinny and you'll feel better! I feel bad for donating my bird cage and now we have another bird.

Joshua I am so sorry for the loss of Jerry. It's terribly hard to lose one of our furkids, they take up such a large place in our hearts.
Awww sweety I am so sorry :nolove: Just think of all the other chins or animals who need your love! :(

Aww... i'm so sorry jb.
After my Singy passed, i didn't get his brother another cagemate. It is just I can't forgive myself for replacing him for another, and i'm sure his brother wouldn't like the the idea.
Anyway, take some rests now. You must be exhausted..

It is very hard to just get another chin after you have loved the same one for so long.
I'm so very sorry about Jerry, he'll be happy up in heaven with all the other chinnies. He'll make some great new friends, and he can have all the raisens he wants without ever getting sick! Feel better, I know how hard it is to lose a pet especially a chin!:(

So sorry to hear about the loss of your Jerry. It's terribly hard to loose one of our little furry friends. They never judge us and only offer unconditional love to us. Burry him in a special place and always remember the love he gave to you. Don't give his cage away. Put it out of the way for now but later when you are ready get yourself another little friend. It doesn't replace Jerry but will keep you company and there is always a rescue that needs you to love them too.
