OMG....When I woke up this morning, Stella's cage was empty....I found Stella poop about 3 feet from her cage but I still can't find her!! We've checked every inch of the apartment more than once including under the stove and the fridge....next is the radiators :( !!
I left out food, water, her sleeping bag and a little house hoping that she will make her way there during the night and then we'll catch her in the morning! OMG what else can I do?
Very worried...

First thing to do is calm down. Hedgies escape all the time. It's not unusual. Second thing is to let everything get quiet and watch for her. She may be cuddled somewhere asleep right now. You said you put food and water down, I would also put down a shirt or towel or something with your scent on it. Look closely in spaces that she may have gotten into that may end up hurting her. WATCH WHERE YOU STEP! She will look for small dark warm places. While she is out exploring, she will also be looking for food or treats. Like as not, you will soon see her coming out from something. If not, I bet in the morning if you still haven't found her, she will be next to her food and water that you have set out cuddled up in the towel, or shirt that you put down. Some people even let their pogs roam loose all night and always find them the next morning cuddled up in their blankets.
Keep us updated on this

Wait, you said that she got out this morning. Then she has been out all day. She will soon be very hungry and will go looking for food. Just keep an eye out. Also, make sure to check places where she might hurt herself. If doors were open all day, she could be in any room. Don't worry, you'll find her.

She will come out looking for food and water. I promise you that. In the wild, hedgies have a very small area that they roam every night looking for grub. They don't usually roam very far. They are also very good at finding their way back to where their den is. I bet you find her cuddled up in her bag. Which was a very wise purchase IMO. Watch sitting in chairs that she may be under such as a rocker or recliner and be careful shutting doors so you don't shut her up in one. Make sure there are no heating vents that she can get trapped in. I am sure she is under something in the dark as that is what they search for in the wild. Hedgie fingers and toes crossed here. Please let us know when you find her, and tell us the story of what she got into over the night!
Best of luck,
Billy
BTW, find and read the thread by Bear of the time his hedgie escaped. It will make you feel better. Nancy has a hedgie that loves to escape and hides under her daughters bed. Odo got out once, and I didn't even know it until I happened to see her run across the room when I was watching tv. At first, I thought she was a white rat! lol
i'm a "she", actually :) i'm trying to remember which escape that might have been... might have been someone else's thread

When Chief Inspector Prickles used to go walkabout, I would put a few empty Coca-Cola cans with some dried beans inside them around on the floor. When I went to bed at night, I would listen for him and inevitably he would find a can and start to roll it around, rattling the beans inside ... when I heard this noise, he was busted. Another thing I have done with him to catch him was to open a can of mealworms, hold them in front of an electric fan for a few minutes to get the aroma around the place and then set the can in the middle of the floor, turn off the lights and hold a flashlight in my hand. He would always come to the mealworms sooner or later and when I heard him I just shined the flashlight on him, which made him freeze. Don't know if these tricks will work with your hedgie, but don't worry, she will turn up ... they most always do!

I am sorry Bear. Of course, your a she and not a he. I knew that. I don't know what is wrong with me lately. Also, it was jeffbot that I was refering to whose hedgie escaped. Again, I am sorry.
