Ever since we got USDA Licensed in June of this year, we've been wanting to get the hedgies their own room and we were planning on where to put it. Finally we thought to put it in our basement where we could build a room for them since it has so much open space.
We (my dad and I) starting working on it about three weeks ago, give or take a little while. Its finally *ALMOST* finished, we have the basic needs all done. The heating is GREAT!!! It stays at 76*F the whole day, while outside the room in the basment gets pretty cold. Before the ceiling was just rafters etc., so we had to put in a suspended ceiling. The floor was also cement, so we got a NICE light rug for the floor and the walls are a nice light green. None of this room was there a few weeks ago, we built everything from scratch and I wanted to show everyone it:) My dad has worked very hard for me, and I just helped out along the way as much as I could.
The shelve that a few of the cages are on is just supported with the two stools at the moment (which are supporting it good for now). We're going to be getting little supporting beams under it, whithin the next few days or so. So everything is *ALMOST* done, with a few exceptions and random things that need to be added in. We're going to be putting a NICE LARGE white cabinet, that will hold a bunch of the supplies, in also within the next few days.
