That little guy has some energy let me tell ya! :D
I wanted to make sure he could wheel okay and was active and happy. So after I turned out the lights, I sat there with my cocoa for about 5 minutes. He came out and peeked around to see if anyone was there and when he didn't see anyone, he went nuts.
This is his routine:
Get on wheel
stop short running and 'ride the wheel' till it stops going back and forth
Wheel the other way
Get of wheel
go to litter box
Climb hill of fleece blankets
rearrainge blankets
eat a kibble
push around ball with bell
eat a chicken
scratch ear
drink water
run in and out of PVC pipe 3 times
wheel
stop short and ride wheel
run other way
eat kibble
Okay.... all this was accomplished in about 5 minutes! It was hysterical to watch him swinging back and forth sitting in the wheel He's so clever!

LOL that is so cute! They can be such busy bodies! Bosco goes crazy like that sometimes. Murdoc on the other hand comes out, goes right to his bowl, eats what is in there, takes a drink, goes back to sleep. Comes out again about an hour later, eats the kibbles that I have scattered around his cage, drinks, poops, goes back to sleep. What a lazy bum! Hopefully that will change once his wheel arrives!
BTW-That picture of Homer in your signature is adorable! I just love it

Thanks - one of my friends asked me if that was a real hedgehog or a toy one :)

 That is so cute! They are fun to watch, aren't they? Homer sounds like such an active little boy with plenty to keep him busy! I've stayed up to spy on Razzle and he does the same kind of routine. It's like they have ADD sometimes!

I am going to have to stay up sometime to watch Doris. I would like to see what she does at night. I have thought about video taping her so I could see a full night's routine, but I haven't done it yet.

Alina is much the same. Run, run, run, get off wheel, run up stairs, run downstairs, get on wheel, run, run, run, get off wheel, run around ground floor of cage, drink water, realize there is food, eat a kibble, run around ground floor, get back on wheel.... It's a several hour routine.
(Lately, I'm not sure if she's been running though. :| Does anyone know if hedgehogs have "off" times when they just don't feel like it? I don't want her to get out of shape!)

 My hubby wants to video tape Homer. I have this vision of him secretly climbing out of his cage and playing xbox while we are asleep.

Isn't it amazing! And they do that ALL night long! I don't where they find the energy :)

They definitely have a routine or two. :) I could watch my hedgie's antics for hours. I used to get up around 2-3 am to watch her for a bit when we first got her. Does anyone else's hedgie do a 'turnabout' while running on the wheel? We still get baffled even as we watch how she does it. She doesn't stop and turnaround but does it while still wheeling! :)
