Ok so I was wondering what should I take with me when I go to get my hedgie? I have a travel box cage, and a hegie bag for it, but what else should I bring? Its going to be about an hour and a half drive so I want my hedgie to be comfortable, so what would you recomend?
Thanks

I think that should be fine. Your hedgie is probably going to be nervous and stressed to require food and water. Maybe toss a shirt that you've worn over the carrier so s/he can get used to your scent

So the hedgie I am getting is going to be between 6-8 weeks so I just want to make sure, approx what size should the travel cage be? The one I currently have is 10"x7"x7" and I just want to make sure he has room to move if he wants to.

That should be fine. I know when I brought all of my hedgies home as babies, they went right in their hedgiebag and didn't come out. I made sure my car was nice and warm for the trip!

Yeah i'm not a "cold weather" person so i know my car will be toasty warm, and i know its a bad idea to point the vent right at the hedgie.

I actually buckled my carrier in my backseat.

Yeah i'm thinking front seat cause then i can keep an eye on him, and its usually warmer in the front.

Put a blinket down too so it absobs some of the shock from bumps and such. Where are you getting yours from?

Might also consider getting some of those little hand warmers that you snap to activate. Not a bad idea just in case you have car trouble or something.

Odo came home in a cardboard box snuggled in my work shirt. I didn't expect to get her, and it was all I had at the time. I was prepared for Marco's home coming though, He had the works! A baggie and a blanket made by Nancy. Dar went with me to get him, and he spent the trip in her lap.
