So i read that:
-Chicken Soup For the Cat Lovers Soul
-Royal Canin Slim
-Wellness Brand Super5Mix Light salmon flavor
-Felidae
-Purina ProPlan
-Purina Weight Managment
-Eukanuba Adult
-Blue Buffalo
-Mother Hubbard Wellness

are the recommended food for hedgies. I was wondering though, you all keep talking about food "mix" and whatnot. what exactly is that? what do you guys mix with your cat foods? do i just mix various variety of cat foods? or do i mix something else? also, what do you all think about canned cat foods?

A mix is just a combination of two or more of the dry cat foods. I personally use a mix of Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul and Royal Canin Slim. I believe the theory is that you are giving your hedgie a bit of variety as well as covering all bases for good nutrition (what Cat Lover's may lack, Royal Canin may supply, etc.). I also do not feed Razzle any wet cat food, but that's not to say that it's a bad thing. I believe there might be some good options out there that others can tell you about. Just remember, whenever you change your hedgie's diet, do it gradually. For example, mix in a few kibbles of the new food in with his current food. Every day, just put a little more until it's about half & half. When I first got my hedgie, the pet store had him eating a brand called "8 in 1" or something like that. It's not a horrible food, but not one of the better ones. Instead of just dumping it and giving him a bowl of Royal Canin, I gradually mixed in a few kibbles of the Royal Canin with the 8 in 1 until the 8 in 1 was gone. Then I finally found the Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul (sometimes it is hard to find) and again, started gradually mixing it in with the Royal Canin. Razzle never had any problems and liked his new kibbles just fine! (Sometimes, your hedgie may get green poos when he is introduced to a new food).

As I mentioned, I do not use canned cat foods, but instead, I supplement with a variety of treats like crickets, worms, cooked plain chicken, salmon, and babyfoods. Babyfood is really convenient and you can try a whole variety of things to see what your hedgie likes.

I use chicken soup adult lite and mix in her kitten formula just for variety about 3-1. She is not overweight and the kitten formula is actually not too high in fat. Plus the smallest bag they had avail was not too small, so I had to buy it to continue blending until she was used to the csftclsl. I have tried the wet csftclsl and she wont touch it. Go figure. I plan on trying some Wellness salmon flavor for varitey as I hear it is good as well and palatable too and I can get it in a small size to try. Variety of good food is good as mentioned above for nutritional diversity.
