Hi All,I'm wondering if people's heggies are pure(specieswise)or if it more common for the types to be interbred-exp-african to algerian or big eared to algerian(sp). Is there any way to visually tell if your hog is a pure species or an intergrade.Does it matter inquiring minds want to know.Marla Dee:confused:

Essentially all hedgehogs in North America are a mixture between white bellied and algerian hedgehog species. There were very few long eared hedgehogs imported into the US from my understanding, and they weren't reliably bred due to a variety of difficulties with their temperament, their reliability in breeding, and other factors.
