I'm getting a little worried about Marco. Of course, I still have no intention of breeding, but I have been wanting to hear Marco "sing" to Odo like I read that hedgies can do, but to date, Marco shows no sign of being interested in Odo. Actually, he acts like he is scared of her. He is about 4-5 months old ( I think, he is a rescue so I don't know for sure) and as of yet, has not discovered himself in the ways described here. Maybe something is wrong with him?

he just might not be intrested or mature yet, I know when I was living with my friend who is a hedgehog breeder as well and we went to breed one of her albinos who was about 5 months old to my annie he had no intrest in her at all.

Wow, I started this thread then never came back to check on it. That is so rude of me! Please forgive me.
Marco still is not showing any interest in females whatsoever. He is a little over six months old now. Of course, I have no intention of breeding him, but I would expect some kind of interest in Odo by now. Frodo is sure interested! Or rather he would like to be. Do any of you guys think that something may be wrong with Marco?

I wouldnt worry about it too much Billy. As long as he is acting otherwise happy and healthy, Im sure nothing is wrong with him.
It is also totally possible that he is just a "late bloomer"- and hasnt quite figured things out yet.
PS- I hope that he doesnt see the title of this thread! It might offend his masculinity! ;)

Yes, otherwise he is a very healthy and happy hog. He eats and drinks well, runs his wheel a lot and all poops and pee check out fine and normal. Maybe, like you said, he is just a late bloomer. Little guy is so sweet tempered, Dar had him in her arms just now and he was laying on his side with his little hand over Dar's finger and she was slowly rubbing his belly. He was sound asleep. Dar wouldn't let me take a photo, she is kinda protective of him and didn't want the flash to hurt his eyes or wake him up. He likes it really dark.

That is just soo cute! Both of mine hate it when I touch their tummies. They tolerate it for a second, and then start huffing and puffing. They really should take some lessons from their cousins!

Oh, he won't do anything like that for me. I'm doing good if I can get him to lower his quills. But in Dar's hands he is putty.

Marco isn't alone. Patton is over 2 years old and freaks out when Bianca gets anywhere near him. He curls up in a ball, hisses, and when that doesn't stop her from coming closer, he uncurls and runs away and tries to hide from her. \
My husband and I will lay in bed reading, each with a hedgehog napping on them. Bianca will wake up and start to walk over to me from my husband. As soon as she gets closer to him, he starts to react. Its interesting.
