Spike's Delite 2.5 Lb Pet-Diet Hedgehog Food

You are bidding on a 2.5 lb. package of Spike's Delite Hedgehog Pet-Diet. We believe that this is the very best hedgehog food on the market! It is a high protein (30%), low fat (10%) product that is made with the best of ingredients! It is a totally cooked food supplement designed for African Pygmy Hedgehogs. Spike's Delite Pet-Diet is an economy version of their premium-diet formula. A lower price for the product is acheived by eliminating their supplemental mix of chelated trace minerals, enzymes, and herbs. But it still contains all of the essential nutrients, including Spike's near human grade chicken and other quality ingredients. Their patented extrusion process guarantees high digestibility. Spike's Delite Pet-Diet is designed for adult animals who are not breeding.

Spike's Delite brand hedgehog diets are manufactured using a unique patented dry extrusion process. This high heat friction method provides better digestibility and promotes better absorption of nutrients.

The number one ingredient in Spike's Delite Hedgehog Food is chicken meal. Not just any chicken meal... but true rendered 60% protein chicken. The chicken used is only one step below human grade! They don't use any of the feet, beaks, or viscerals found in lower quality products.

Not only is Spike's Delite nutritionally superior, more easily digested, and made with the highest quality ingredients.... but it tastes good, too! Our hedgies love it.

Check out our other sizes and "flavors" of Spike's Delite Hedgehog Foods in our Ebay Store.

Spikes delight is not a great food for hedgies. There are many many posts about the best diets for hedgehogs. There are better quality foods that you can feed them. Do a search for Spikes Delight and see what you find.

Like I said there are lots and lots of posts that list the best foods for hedgies. You dont have to feed your hedgie what the breeder did. Let me clarify. In order to change his diet you need to integrate the old food and the new food together, and slowly wean him off of the old food. You shouldnt continue to feed a non nutritious food just because the breeder did. I read in another post that Spikes Delight is the best hedgie food they make, but not a great food to feed them. In other words most of the "hedgehog foods" they make are crappy, but at least Spikes Delight is better than the other crappy foods.
The first three ingredients in any food should be protein i.e. meat. The first three ingredients in Browns are grains, which is a big no no.
My advice to you is to find out what food the breeder is feeding, and integrate that into the food you are going to feed your hedgie. It should be a mix of high quality cat foods (CSFTCLS, Royal Canin, Wellness, Buffalo blue, etc). It should be supplemented with insects, and treats like fruits and veggies. There are so many posts on the proper hedgie diet, please try and do a search. When I searched for Spikes Delight I found at least three pages of posts!

Chinluvr I thought you lived in a state that did not allow hedgehogs. Correct me if im wrong but I thought your last post was about that.

Browns would not be good cause its just fillers, and the top couple ingrediants need to be a meat based item, here is a good website that ranks the foods. http://www.pogstarhedgehogs.com/nutrition/
