Ok, last night, I caught Taria in the action of climbing her cage. i took her off the wall, and put her down, and then she went and did it again. is there anything that i can do to stop this? i think it might be that my wheel, still order, is not in. i've tried everywhere. even Halifax, our capitol doesn't have any!! it is really starting to agrevate me!!!

I used to get so scared because my old hedgehog Beastly would climb to the very top of his cage and fall back down, over and over again. He never got hurt though. I think the quills acted as shock absorbers. It may have been luck though he never got hurt.
The only thing I can think of to do is move your hedgie into a solid side cage like a rubbermaid container cage.

They have 11 inch wheels at Pets unlimited in Burnside Dartmouth if that's any use to you. I just bought one today.

I hadn't seen Jake climb his cage until I took his wheel out. A couple of days ago he ran until his feet bled, so the vet said to take the wheel out and let him heal a little. He climbed and fell all night long. I decided that his wheel was less hazardous to his health than the daredevil routine was. Plus, all that bashing around was noisy! Replaced wheel, no climbing. And his feet are healing.

11 inches is too small, she'll just grow out of it in months. there is no point of having a wheel that is too small. i already tried her in the 11 inch and it was just the right size, but she is still a baby and growing!

11" isn't too small. I have many many 11" wheels that work fine for even my biggest hogs.

the pet store in bridgewater has good wheels, they are the pink/purple/green ones, they have a solid surface, and are a good size, I have a couple of them. they are on the wall right next to the bunnies. If trudy is working just tell her you want the kind of wheel Sarah buys for her hedgehogs.
