Night one, It was very interesting. He woke me up running on his wheel yesterday night, not because he was running hard but because he would run and stop and turn which made it bump the side of his cage. He is eating like a champ, and pooping just the same. I must point out that I did not think it possible for such a little animal to produce a 2 inch poop, but some how he did. Other than that I got up and we ran around my living room, well I watched and he ran, and pretty much stopped to smell everything. The odd thing is that now he is sleeping and I put two hedgie bags in his house, and he carefully pulled one on top of the other, infront of his igloo and crawled between the two with his but slightly sticking out in the igloo door way. its very funny looking. He was a little huffy this morning but not to bad, all i had to do was put my hand next to him and he stopped unrolled and walked onto my hand. oh yeah and also, his wheel is suposed to be a burgandy color, lets just say it was more brown than burgandy, and he needed a foot bath this morning which he did not want to seem to leave, I was just waiting for him to flip over and start doing the backstroke. Well I just thought I would share my interesting first evening.

Awww, Indy sounds like a great little buddy! That's so great he has taken to his wheel with such gusto! And baby hedgie poops are amazing, aren't they? hahaha. I couldn't believe it the first time I saw how big they were. His sleeping position between the hedgiebags sounds soo cute -- you might need to take a picture of that and post it (hint, hint..) :)

Aw, he sounds adorable :) Glad to hear that everything is going so well!

Not sure if Im the only one, but I find it amusing how every new hedgie owner (myself included) always comments on the size of hedgie poop! LOL Just goes to show how impressive it really is ;)

Well Indy just sat with me for the last hour and a half and now he is drinking water like its running out. Well its midnight I guess he will be up for a while which as we all know means, play time, and fun.

Don't you love how they run then stop to sniff around? Like they think something has changed.

You sound like you have caught the hedgie disease. When you watch them eat and the way they sleep makes you all warm and fuzzy, you know you are in love.

So I get home from work, and go to clean Indy's cage, and when I'm done hes awake so i figure lets play, well I pick him up and he climbs to my shoulder not sure why, but I go and sit on the couch and he crawls back down flops his little body on my stomach and falls asleep and every so often will stick his head out, look at me and curl back up like he is checking to make sure I am still there. I'm so glad I got him cause I almost got his brother instead and I just had a good feeling about Indy and so I got him. It was a good choice.

I know what you mean about the wheel being brown. I've posted a couple times about that!! I just find that totally amazing...in a gross sort of way... Let's just say the foot bath is a MUST!! :)
