My Razzle is now approaching 8 months of age and I was curious as to what to expect as he gets older. Has anyone noticed any significant changes in their hedgies as they moved out of the baby stage? Changes in appetite, dietary preferences, bowel movements, activity levels, grumpiness ?

Only thing I've ever noticed is they seem to lighten up colorwise.

Odo was about 6 months old when I got her, and she is now about 15 months old so I have had her for nine months. The only thing that I have noticed is that she is more set in her ways and more stubborn. Other than that, she is about the same. She seems to have a little bit more engery now too. I haven't had Marco long enough to tell.

My girl is 8mo. old (already?!) and has gotten a lot lighter after quilling. She's gotten much more active since she was a baby and lately she's been tearing up the place getting into all sorts of trouble. One thing I'd like to mention, I've read before hedgies start pooping less once they get older but so far I haven't noticed. My baby still poops a lot! Yes, I analyze her poop everyday. Hehe.

IME, hedgehogs seem to follow trends similar to humans. An 8 month old is equivalent to a mid-20s individual, I believe. Still energetic, enthusiastic, etc. As they get older, they often tend to become less energetic, to the point where many "senior citizens" spend most of their time relaxing or walking calmly around their cage, with shorter bursts of speedy running and play. Of course, just like humans, this doesn't apply to ALL hedgehogs, some senior citizens zoom around frantically just like they did as kids.
