Well as the title says my little guy escaped, I'm not really sure how, but oh well. The odd thing about it is I searched my whole apartment, every square foot without finding him. :banghead: So i decided I would turn the lights off and listen. Well I was sitting next to his cage which is sitting on my computer desk and i heard a little scratching. Well I listen a little more and look around and see the kleenex box on my desk moving ever so slightly and i pick it up and its heavy at one end about 350g heavier than it should be. So I pull off the side, slide out the kleenex and find my little guy who must have somehow climbed on top of it and gone through the spot where you pull it out. I was just really funny he seemed to be so content in there sleeping. so i just picked him up looked him over to make sure he looked ok, set him back in the box and put the box in his cage and there he was when I woke up this morning at my normal time. :)
to me it was just funny so I thought I would share.

Both my hedgehogs are super climbers. They can get up on the sofa if they want. I have a little pen fence and they can climb all the way to the top - of course when they get there, they don't know how to get down the other side. I only let them play in it while I am watching so I can make sure they don't fall and hurt themselves. I put a cushion under where they are climbing. They both go up and down the strairs. Its a strain and a full body stretch, but they make it by getting their claws in the carpet and pulling themselves up. To do down, they just walk off the edge and land on the next step down. I have very thick carpet with double padding, so they love it.

When I bought my little guy at a local petstore the owners told me hedgehogs couldn't climb. Yeah right!
Thorn loves to climb on me, my couch, pillows, and even managed to escape from his cage once and climb down from the top of my dresser. I always have to keep an eye on him so that he doesn't get hurt.

Tico can basically climb straight up the back of the couch. I just cut his nails so I know they arent insanely long or anything. But when he gets his free time, he willcome up beside me and basically scale the back of the couch until he gets to the top (the couch is against a wall). Then he looks at me like, "okay now what."
