I´ve just found this site, and I really need your help...I have not found any pet shop in Venezuela that sells chins :banghead: and I´m desperate to own one little furry friend...I have a name for her and her room, and I expected to have her by Christmas but it has been imposible. Please if any of you happen to know how can I buy a chinchilla in Venezuela let me know...I´m from Peru, one of the native countries of the chins, but I live in Venezuela.

Hola chama :)

is it possible to buy or capture (even though not the best option) a chinchilla from peru/argentina/chile and transport it to venezuela? I'm not sure how it works per country, but maybe you could buy one in another country, and before bringing it back home to venezuela, have it seen by a vet, give it the necessary medications and quarantine, etc, and then take it home with you? you might want to go a vet first and found out the information you need.

I know that when my mom brought home a dog from Costa Rica she had to sign some papers, have the dog seen by a vet and quarantined, etc. I also don't know the laws with exotic mammals in venezuela.

So I suggest you talk to a vet first before asking here.

Thanks to both of you, I´m currently in Peru on vacations and have asked several vets and pet shops with no luck... My sister is traveling to Cuzco tomorrow (where Mcchu Picchu is located) and will try to find out. Any other news from some contact any of you might have in Venezuela or Peru is welcomed.
