I have a question about the baby food that you guys give to your little bundle of joys. Now on the baby food can or jar it says not to use after 3 days open, does it go bad or is it dangerase(sorry i'm not the best speller) to give it to them? I just bough Popples some applesauce in baby food cause they didn't have the regular applesauce that i buy for him and i was thinking of getting him some other kinds to see if he would like it. I'm not sure what other kind of treats to give him, i have tryed carrots cooked, banana and once potatoes and didn't seam to like those.
Also how often should i give him worms?
Sorry for so many questions. ;)

If you want the baby food to last put a bit in ice cube trays and freeze it. Once frozen you can pop it out of the tray and but the little cubes in a baggie.
Depends on the size of the mealies. Mealworms are very fattening so should be given as treats. 2-4 a couple of times a week is good. :)

Thanks Teasels mom,

but that's a good idea about the baby food. Thanks again.

The ice cube tray is a good idea Nancy. I've never run into that problem with 3 hedgies and 3 sugar gliders. I usually use the jar up in 2 days!

I hadn't thought of freezing baby food. Smart!
Babyfood is okay for about 5 days. Manufacturers have to err on the side of caution (lawsuits!), so they say 3. 5 days is a good guideline. If it doesn't smell funny or hasn't changed consistency you should be safe. The veggie ones last longer than the meaty ones.
I am always trying new food with Jake. I found baby food multi-packs. The jars are tiny. Like 2 or 3 spoonfulls. There are 4 jars to a pack and each jar is a different flavor. There is a fruit pack and a veggie pack. If he really doesn't like a flavor, I don't waste a whole big jar.

Wow where did you find those? Tico only likes beef baby food and thats it. Nemo doesnt like any treat except mealies. I tried pureed sweet potatoes from the Fresh Market near my house and Tico loved it. But Nemo as usual didnt touch any of it. I give Tico lots of treats because he is so small. I give Nemo the same amount of things even though he doesnt eat any of it. I figure maybe one day he will change his mind.
I give mealies two to three times a week. But I feed the freeze dried ones, and they are a lot smaller than the big ones.

Okay - I have a story to share about freezing baby food. I did something not very brillant- in fact, it was pretty stupid  - but I want to share it anyway...
One day, I put the baby food jar in the freezer. :dunce:
I did that because I figure I could do like a Froo-to (I don't know if that product still exist) and just scape a little bit of baby food every other day. :i:
Guess what happen ? It explode (but we didn't hear it) !
So the next day, I opened the door of the freezer and what did I saw ? The jar cut in 2 perfect half. I didn't know that we cannot freeze thing in glass jar...
(we have a jessica moment here !)
Moral of this story : follow the trick of Teasels Mom to froze baby food ! :)
