It sucks! I can never post my digital camera pictures anywhere because of their size. They are HUGE and I have no idea how to resize them! I tried with paint but when I resize with pain it always gives me the wrong part of the pic... What program should I use? and most importantly how??

Thanks
Tine

I use Picture It Pro... I open the picture in the program, go under Format, go to Resize Image, then make the largest dimension (width or height) equal to 4.5. It usually makes it work just great!

Okay, I can help, but only if you post all of your chinnie pics. Normally I use Paint Shop Pro, but I tried MS Paint for the first time to help you with your problem, and what a pain in the chinnie butt. I'll use one of my photos as an example. CnQ allows a maximum file size of 40140 bytes and this will be our approximate goal. In Paint, click on image and then click on attributes . Notice where it says size on disk. This is the file size of the pic you want to shrink in bytes. Take 40140 bytes and divide by your file size. In my case the file size was 117015 bytes. So 40140/117015= .34 or 34%. Subtract this % from 100% and I got 66%. Now in Paint, click on image again and click on stretch/skew. I put in 66% in the horizontal and vertical stretch boxes. Of course your % you enter is going to be different than mine. Click OK. Now click File and click on save . If you do not rename the re-sized file, it will over-write the original file and the original cannot be retreived ever again. So please rename it. Now click on image and then attributes to see how close you came to your goal of approximately 40140 bytes. If you are a little bit over, then you can go into sketch/skew and change it from 100% to 98%, then save the changes and then see if the new file size is under your target size. Good luck and I hope this works.

Thanks Chinchilla_boy! Well, it's a pain in the butt but at least Paint is free and already installed on my computer. I don't really want to spend money on software this soon after Christmas! So I'm trying to download the demo for paint shop pro, but I'm on a 56k, which means it's going to take a while. :banghead: I'll try your trick though! And of course I'll post all my pics!! I've had this chin for over a year and have been participating in this forum since before I got him, but never managed to post pics. This proud mama can't wait to show off her baby!

Thanks for the help !
