I was making up Calvin's food mix last night and I realized that instead of getting the "lite" food, I got the "senior" food. Calvin really likes it. I've trying searching through the threads, and as far as I can tell, most people feed their hedgies the lite formula.

Will it be okay for him to have the senior and when it runs out, add the lite to the mix? I have him on the Wellness senior, CSFTCLS lite, royal canin 38, and Authority adult (part of his mix from the breeder). I'd like to get a bag of the salmon Wellness and maybe Bufflao blue eventually - to really round out his dining expierance! ;)

Anyway, so I was just wondering if the senior Wellness is healthy for him right now and as soon as it's gone (or almost gone) I'll get the lite.

Thanks!

We got a senior formula by mistake one time for our cat. After about 5 days on it we wondered if she was sick as all she did was sleep. She acted worn out. Right before calling the vet I noticed the bag of food said senior. After a few days back on her regular food she was back to her normal energetic self.

I don't think I'd risk using a senior forumula especially with him still growing. :)

ohhh, yikes!

Well then, the cats get to have the senior wellness! lol. I'll place an order for the lite and the salmon wellness. Those should be okay to have in his mix, right?

Thanks so much Nancy! Glad your hedgie is okay!

It wasn't our hedgie that ate it. It was our young cat. For senior cats it is fine but obviously not for young active cats. :)

That's so werid. Thanks for sharing the story. I asked the store owner what the difference was between lite and senior formula (I was getting Wellness for my dog who's a bit plump) since I couldn't really tell. She told me senior contained ingredients that are supposed to help with joints and such as well as being lower in fat. I got the lite one and I'm very glad they came out with it (it's relatively new for dog food) otherwise I would've gotten senior.

My hedgie gets a mix of Wellness Salmon, Wellness Lite, Wysong, and Royal Canin Slim 38. Wellness Lite is the newest addition to the mix and boy she loves it. I wasn't sure whether she'd like it much since it's lite and she always picks out the other two kibbles first and leaves Royal Canin Slim 38. I love Wellness! Both my princesses love it and do so well on Wellness! :)

Finally got the Wellness in yesterday. Made a mix of Wellness Lite, Wellness Salmon Flavor, CSFTCLS lite and kitten and RC38 Slim. Odo emptyed her bowl, Marco ate a little and Frodo ate a little. Will see what happens tonight.

Marco and Frodo don't seem to care that much for the Wellness. Odo ate two pieces out of five. I hope Marco and Frodo decide to eat it. I have 14 pounds of the stuff!
