So I stopped by a local petstore to see if there were any hedgehogs for sale. There were. Two albinos in an aquarium together.

I asked the store person guy if I could hold the hedgehogs and he said I could. Of course upon inspection I found that they were a female and a male (in the same cage.) The cage was kinda small and had cell-sorb bedding with a food bowl, a water bottle and no hidey places.

As soon as I picked up the female I got pooped on. The poops were very loose and green. I told the guy he was feeding them the wrong type of food (which is probably why the poops were the way they were.) He said no, cat food is bad for hedgehogs and the hedgehog food was specially formulated for them. I replied by saying the food was actually bad for them. He wasn't interested. The food was little tiny balls in different colors. Green, orange, and brown. I don't know the name of it.

So that's my little story. I'm very annoyed the guy was so sure he knew what was good food, yet he didn't even seem to realize that he was housing a male and female together, or he didn't care he was housing mixed genders.

That's unfortunate. People should really learn to get over themselves and take some advice, or at least listen!!! Ugh, frustrating! :banghead: Poor lil' babies... all because people are just so...so... urgh, irritating! :)

Jessie,

I just was there today for the first time. I'm thinking about printing him some information on hedgehog nutrition and taking it to him.

He very much gave me the impression that he would not listen to me. He thought I was wrong and he was right.

He was also keeping spiny mice and hamsters in the same cage, as well as bunnies and guinea pigs in the same cage.
