Hi,
I believe our little guy is "quilling". He is MUCH pickier to hold than he was just a couple of weeks ago! Does anyone know if hedgies poke or hurt themselves while going through this? Last night I just noticed that baby Storm has little bloody spots, like scrapes, on the TOPS of his feet. He is walking fine, and has been running in his bucket wheel a bit more than usual the last couple of days. I'm not sure what else I could attribute it too. I dont believe there is a thing in his cage that could have done it, unless he is dragging his little feet as he goes in and out of the litter box. Has anyone experienced this before? What do you think? Anything I should be concerned about?
Thanks! Stacey

Hmm, not sure, I know that I stepped on one of indys quills really hard by accident and it drew a little blood, so maybe that all it is.

Is the lip of the wheel low to the ground and very easy for him to get up on to? He might be having trouble getting his whole body onto the wheel, but so eager to wheel that he's running a bit anyway? That could produce scrapes on top of the feet.
