don't wait over a year, but make sure she is at LEAST 6 months. Just remember if you DON'T have homes set up for babies you are stuck with them. I had a hard time in bridgewater finding homes for all mine, and I know Vanessa STILL has babies she coudln't sell. Also READ READ READ, if you plan on breeding her my e-mail is sarah@hoglets.com come to me with any questions and I'll help you.

she does... the pet store won't take them, and she can't get rid of them. bridgewater is a hard place for all that unless you have the right connections. I never sold any in b'water, usually shipped and traveled

I read somewhere that if the female was healthy, you could breed up till they were 18 months.

Up until 18 months...does that mean the first breeding and first litter the hedgie has or that they can't be older than that to have a litter?
I have no intentions on breeding and don't even have 2 hedgies, just curious. ;)

it's safer to not go over a year.
vanessa had one or 2 boys left I think.

i feel bad for her, i would take one, but you know, Taria and them are brothers, so i couldn't breed them either!
