last night I noticed tat one of noels babies is crying ALOT, like long loud squeeks. I'm kind of concered maybe where this is so close to her last litter she's running out of milk, would I be safe to supliment them??
Hey Sarah!
Generally, when the babies are crying a lot it is because something is wrong. If is a definitely possible that she is not providing them with enough milk. As you know supplementing babies that are only a few days old can have catastrophic results, ending in the loss of the babies. If the babies are 10 days old or older generally they are easier to feed and save. Well, you can always check their bellies to see if they are full, generally you will be able to see an enlarged abdomen. If their bellies are sunken in, I would definitely give them some goat milk or KMR whichever you prefer. Of course their chances of survival will increase if they stay with their mother, as long as she does not hurt them that is. Well, I hope this helps, best of luck, bye!
Bob.

I think its called Esablac or something like that, my spelling is probably off, but if you find that, thats great to use and I know big breeders have had a much better time with that rather than KRM. Like Bob said, its very hard to supliment, every few hours you have to be up feeding them and keep them warm and its not a good chance that they're going to survive. I would let them be, he was probably being sat on or something by mom, but thats just my opinion. Good luck.

oh I know all about hand feeding remember I hand fed lille Abby for 6 days before she passed. All babies look healthy and chubby. I haven't herd the crying in a couple hours, I think I"m just going to keep a good eye on them
