Welcome to the forums!
The york show is held every year in April.. This year it's going to be on April 30th, at the Dover Fire hall on Cannal street- I'm not sure of the exact address. It's a fun show, with a lot of nice people there... Several larger breeders, pet owners, and hobby breeders attend :)

Wow, that is like 2 minutes from our house and we never knew there was a chin show in the area!!! We actually live in Dover, but always say York, because no one has heard of Dover PA :)
This is great, can't wait to attend.
Thanks so much

I wonder if thats why they say the show is in York, when it's at the Dover fire hall?
I can't wait for the show either, it was a lot of fun last year-- come prepared with money, it's a opitional claiming show- so any chin for sale has a max price of i believe $200 :) and normally theres quite a few for sale!

We just learned of Chinchillas shows, so we know nothing!! We showed guinea pigs for 2 years. What is a claiming show? Are there alot of chinchillas shows in the area? For pig shows we went to Canada, NY, NJ, MD, WV.
How do the chins handle the stress of showing? Kuzco does not like loud noise, so I don't know how he would fare at a show.

There is a show held in South Carolina I believe every Sept? And there are a few shows in Ohio.. They are the closet I believe to us in PA. .There is a big chin show(Nationals) coming up in Indiana the first weekend of April.
I've never actually shown one of my chins, but the chins I've seen at the shows seem to fare pretty well. I did bring one chin home the one year, and she didn't seem stressed out.
I've been to a few guinea pig shows- I normally go to the Macungie show every year to pick up some hay, and look at the pigs.. I went to the show in leesburg PA(it's held with the rabbits), once too.

What is a claiming show? cindy
A claiming show is any chin entered is up for sale to a maximum of $200; an optional claiming show, the chin you are showing doesn't have to be sold.

Welcome, and hope you can make it to the show! I live on the other side of Pa, and hopefully I will be at the York show too.
