Jake is has been almost completely silent since I have had him. Aside from a little purring when I give him a quill massage, I haven't heard a peep from him.
All that changed last night. He squeeked all night. I mean squeeked like a dog chew toy! Is this a happy sound or an annoyed sound?
It was so loud it jolted me out of a deep sleep. I jumped up to check on him. He wasn't stuck anywhere or seemingly harmed. He looked like he had been trying to get out of the cage. The headbutt method. I picked him up and poked at him for a while and he seemed fine. As soon as I put him back and tried to sleep the squeeking continued. I don't mind the noise, I just wanted you guys to tell me if you have heard this noise and what it means.

Hmm, never heard that one, I get purring, and singing at times from Indy to Oda, but no squeaks.

Sleepy squeaks sometimes. I don't think it's cause he's upset or hurt or anything. I think it's cause he's happy. It's usually when he's out and about in his cage at night. I know it woke me up a couple of times, so I'd check and he'd just be sitting there in the middle of his cage looking at me as if to say "Oh, did I wake you?" I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Marco does that from the moment he is awake until Dar goes to him and picks him up. And, he can get pretty loud if she takes too long. Maybe Jake is just missing his mommy.

I think he just sits around and dreams up new ways to stir up trouble. But I am glad to know that you have heard the noise too.

If Zeek gets into trouble, and I stop him, he will do a bunch of short, fast sqeak-like noises. He also does this whisteling noise when he is sniffing around.
