my baby albino comes home in a few days. i know that albinism in humans almost always causes vision problems..... would that go for hedgehogs as well? does baby ruby need thick glasses or braille? :freak: :hedge5: :freak:

Not last time I checked :)

In theory their eyes may be a little more sensitive to strong light, but there are no actual visual problems that is prevalent in albino hedgies that I am aware of . Im sure that someone else with more experience and knowledge on albinos will be able to answer you question more definently. But I really dont think you have anything to worry about- which is good, because that hedgie brail is expensive stuff!

I've never heard of any albinism realated issues. They are just the same as a normal hedgehog but without colour. :)

Even if it did cause vision problems it wouldn't matter too much. Hedgehogs don't really see that well to begin with. Eye sight isn't that important. I think a good example of how poor their sight is that most sighted hedeghogs would probably walk right off a ledge.
