ok, I basically know the answer to this, but I'm a tad unsure. Normally I wait about 3 weeks to clean out a mom's cage after she's had a litter.. But where I didn't expect Noel to have this litter she hasen't been cleaned out in about 3 weeks now, and she had the babies in a sheet which is getting really really stinky and disgusting. Do you think it is safe to clean her out and give her a new blanket for her and the babies? they are just over 2 weeks now.
the only reason I am unsure is because I have always waited, but I don't think waiting would be to healthy for them OR me right now.

It should be okay. If you are unsure, put a bit of the old bedding in the new area so that she is not totally freaked out. It is probably bothering you more than it is her. Good Luck! - Barbara (grandmother to quite a few litters through the years)

well I just cleaned her out, I didn't rinse the bin out, I wanted to keep a bit of the sent in there, I just threw the sheet and the news papers out and gave her a couple old t-shirts and freash news paper for now. everything seems fine. It was mainly the fact that the sheet still had blood and everything on it from her having the babies, and well her poopy papers haden't been cleaned in probably 3 or so weeks so itw as getting a little much. Hopefully friday I can get out and finally get new vullex to make some new liners out of. I hate useing paper.
