I was wondering if anyone is treating a hedgehog for lymphoma. I had a vet suggest that his wobbly-like behavior could be WHS or Lymphoma. Just curious. Thanks

What is lymphoma? Is it cancer of the lymphnodes?

Yes Lymphoma is cancer in the lymphatic system. Did your vet say why he thought it would be lymphoma causing the wobbliness? When Maui had Lymphoma she never wobbled, but hers was located in the throat region and caused her difficulty with breathing when the cancer 'grew'.

The vet said that it could be tumors of the spine???? This would cause wobbliness.

My first hedgehog Wally was diagnosed with lymphoma. It was concentrated in the chest and spread to the abdomen. My vet felt he was too advanced to progressively treat.

Tumors on the spinal column would definitely cause your hedgie to be unsteady. Have you done an x-ray?

Yes, we took an xray to eliminate any possibility of broken bones, etc. It was a view of his stomach up. They couldnt see anything in the xray and neither could I (it was so cute!). They said that if they took a side view they might be able to see if there was a tumor on his spine. The both vets agreed that they thought it was more like lymphoma and not a basic tumor. They said they were about 95% sure it was WHS, but this was a small possibility.
