I have the dry cat food mix sorted. I have royal canin slim, Pro plan salmon & rice and wellness light. My questions are
1. Baby food how much? What age range? How often?
2. Fresh meet & fish, how much? How often?
3. Fresh fruits/vegetable, how much? How often?
4. Meal worms/crickets etc, how many? How often?
5. Does anyone recommend an insectivore diet to add to the mix?
6. What do you give to improve the fiber content of their diet?
I know alot of questions. Thank you in advance.

1. What do you mean baby food? Like the type in the jars? Any age range- some favorites are
-bananna
-strawberry
-blueberry
-sweet potato
-peas
-chicken and broth
-beef and broth
1,2,3. About a tsp at a time is a good amount. It is good to switch these foods around, say fresh chicken one right, a fresh fruit the next, and then some baby food the third. I believe that variety is the key :)
4. Mealies are fatty, so not too many of them at a time, maybe 1-2. Crickets arent so fatty, so you can go with a couple more. A couple-3 times a week should be more than enough.
5. Dont worry about adding an insectivore diet to add to the mix. As long as the cat foods that they are eating are high quality, and they are getting supliments in their diet, they are good to go.
6. I sprinkle baby cereal over dry kibbles every second night. Some people add bran cereal, or grape nuts (my guys wouldnt touch either of those). Ive also heard of dry oatmeal.

I was looking at the baby food and cereal tonight in the store, god things have changed my youngest son is 13. There was so much choice, in numerous age ranges, different brands, I didn't know what to get and so did not get any. With the baby cereal which type baby rice? what has worked for you?

LOL The first time I went shopping for baby food, I ended up asking a lady who was also buying some what types she recommended- I dont have any children (Im 19) and dont know the slightest things about baby food!
Whenever I buy it now I get weird stares when Im standing in line with my lone can of chicken and broth, and get asked "how old my baby is" my last reply to that was "Around 6 months I think...the store where I got him didnt know forsure!". Of course then I had to explain that it was for a hedgie
The type of baby cereal that Im currently using is Barley cereal- step 1. It seems to be working fine....I dont know the first thing about baby cereals. I imagine that the rice would befine as well. Bosco always eats more kibbles when they have this stuff sprinkled on them :)

HAHAHA Laura I know exactly what you mean. When I go to check out with all of my grown up food and stuff and they spy three lone jars of baby food its like they cant put two and two together. Especially since I look so young I think people think I am crazy. Luckily I have never been asked about my baby. I did go to walmart yesterday to get some vinyl to put underneath the playpen (to protect the carpet). She asked what kind of tablecloth I was making and I said it wasnt for that. She asked what it was for and I told her my pet. She then asked if it was a dog and I said no a hedgehog. She was a little bit taken aback I think. She asked me a few questions about hedgehogs but still acted like I was crazy. Oh well.

The age ranges mostly have to do with the consitency. The older, the chunkier. ANY age is fine. This gives you a lot of choice. Jakes likes the toddler meat sticks and the diced carrots and green beans. He doesn't seem to care for the meat flavored baby foods, but it is probably because he gets the real thing on a regular basis. The baby cereal is the flakes that come in a box. There is rice, oatmeal, and mixed. I just tried the mixed on Jake last week and he seemed to eat more kibble. There are also these baby cracker type things in different flavors that melt in your mouth (they DO, I tried them) that Jake thinks are okay.
And don't worry about brand, just go for the cheap stuff. If it won't poison a human baby, I figure my baby is safe.

Haha. I am almost 16 and still look very young for my age (earlier this month I was getting my hair done for a formal dance and this lady at the salon thought I was 12  ) so whenever I am alone in the babyfood section I get very strange looks. Of course no one asks... but oh do they stare.

Based on the discussion in another thread I wanted some confirmation on feeding issues.
so you feed the dry mix freely, changed every day, got that.
Then there are the treats which include: crickets, mealworms, cooked meat/fish, eggs (scrambled and boiled), fresh fruit, baby food, meat sticks. This list comprises the treats, now do i give treats everyday? or only several times a week?
