I just got back from being gone for 6 days. My boyfriend didnt really have anything to do with her except giving her food while I was gone. She was shy before, but now WOW! she curls up in a full ball, hisses, vibrates, jumps and make a clicking sound with her teath (I think its her teath). Any ideas on how to pick her up and make her better? I will be gone in a few days again. My life will be normal again the middle of march. :banghead:

Though I'm no expert, that seems strange to me. My Hedgie (Pequin) is a very huffy boy. I've tried everything to get him to calm down when I enter the room or pick him up, but he just takes a long time to wake up and adjust to being handeld. He rolls into a ball, hisses and puffs at me. I have a towel (a hegie blanket) that I uses to wrap it around him and pick him up. When he relaxes some I slip the blanket away, sometimes he rolls back up, btu I find the quills on their back the most painful, so if he is on his belly in my hand I don't have a problem.
Just play with her and talk to her a lot, I have a lot of animals in my house and the best thing I find to do if their nervous or jumpy is to talk to them quietly and often. Animals love the sounds of our voices.

My cranky guy doesn't enjoy being handled. He is terrified at first, but after about 3-4minutes, he usually unrolls. I just sit in a quiet room with him on a towel in my lap with lots of treats (MEALIES!) on hand to bribe him. It usually works.
