How much water do hedgies drink per day? I've never seen my hedgie use her bottle although she had a bottle for 2 years in her previous home.

Some of mine barely drink any and others drink alot. I would put her on a bowl. Many animals don't get enough water from a bottle. :)

The first few days I had ernie she would drink around half of a 10 oz bottle of water. She has been drinking around 2-3 oz a night since she has had her babies.

I was really hoping not to use a bowl she tips everything over during the night and so then would have no water. Even if I use a heavy bowl she would have her blankets, bedding, coozy in it.

I do notice a small drop in the water level in her bottle.

Yes some of them do like to tip their water. For those persistent ones I use the heavy ceramic bowls made for cats, ferrets and small dogs. I've had 3 of them on the side of it and no luck tipping it.

As for dragging her bedding into the bowl, yeah some do that also. How large is her cage and does she have a wheel? I have noticed it is mostly the ones in the smaller cages that drag bedding into the bowl. A larger cage might be a solution or it may just be that she likes to drag her bedding around.

Yeah, I know, all that and I really wasn't much help.

Yes you were a great help. From your original reply I am guessing that not all hedgies drink a great deal. So I guess I am worrying for nothing. I know I have several guinea pigs who do not drink very much and others that like to drain thier bottles.
Daisy's cage is a cube and coroplast cage 28" x 28" she has velux blankets that line the cage and coozies, blankies, etc. She likes to drag things around and move things. Every morning her litterbox is in the center of the cage, the food bowls are moved, her coozies, blankies have migrated all over, and she is often under one of the velux blankets.
The wheel is still in progress, I finally have all the materials and hope to start construction tonight.

Daisy Lou is BAD for making a mess in her cage every night -- LOL. She dumps her bowl of food, as well as Sophie's bowl of food, then she buries under the cage liner and takes a few poo's under there for me to clean in the morning - LOL. She's a naughtly little munchkin and she's teaching Sophie the bad things!

As for water, they have a water bottle, and I know they drink from it because I hear it in the middle of the night. I was putting a bowl of water in there every night for them, but it was tipped over every morning and the liners were soaking wet, so I'm sticking with the water bottle.

Juni seems to drink alot more water now that I've switched him to the bowl, and I use the heavy ceramic ones, about 2 1/2 inches in diameter and he's never tipped them over...

Well you could use a water dish that hangs from the sign of the cage, then they couldnt tip it. Also, on a side note, superpet makes a clip that you can put on the litter box to keep it put, I use one just cause oda would tip her litter pan on her and make a huge mess.
