Here are a few more pics of my little guy Herbie  I can't believe how much bigger he's gotten in the 3 weeks we've had him! He's too much fun.

He's adorable. I have to ask what type of bedding is he on? It looks like wood shavings, but I can't tell. I was wondering cause it looks like it would be good to burrow in for my guys.

His bedding is actually a litter called Swheat Scoop. It's a natural litter made of wheat. Its the only stuff I have used. I was going to try out the wood chips, but the whole mites talk kinda turned me away from that. The litter I use is found in the cat litter section I found it at Petco and the petstore I go to. I think it's works well, the only prob I have it that it gets all over his blankie :)

Hmm, maybe that would work well as a digging substance. I wonder.

Oh yeah...I think it might work....my little guy doesn't do much digging so can't give ya his opinion. He digs a little around his Pop Tart box bed, so maybe your hedgies would like it.

Very cute hedgie :)

Ive never heard of Swheat Scoop, but from the pictures it looks to be similar to corn cob bedding. If this is the case you may consider switching to a different substrate for your hedgies cage (aspen shavings, liners etc) mainly due to the fact that pieces of the bedding can get stuck in the penile shaft of male hedgies (and in sensitive spots on females as well).

Just thought Id give you a heads up.

Thank you for sharing your pictures with us!
