I USED TO KEEP HER IN A CAGE BUT YESTERDAY BUILT HER A LARGE ENCLOSURE(5'x4'x8') AND ALL NIGHT LAST NIGHT AND TODAY SHE WON'T LET ME ANYWHERE NEAR HER, ACTUALLY ATTACKED AND BIT ME! SHOULD I JUST LEAVE HER ALONE FOR A BIT TO GER COMFY WITH HER NEW PLACE, OR SHOULD I FORCE HER TO SNUGGLE? :(

Oh gosh, poor you. I'm sure she is just settling in to her new enviroment. Do you have pictures of the new place? i would love to see.

No Pics Yet, Maybe Tomorrow. At Work, She Didn't Come Today For Obvious Reasons.

Maybe I am misunderstanding....the new cage is 5 feet long, by 4 feet wide by 8 feet tall? Why so tall? Or is that a typo?

That is a HUGE cage for one hedgie- especially with all that height. It is quite possible that she feels insecure because of all the space, and that is why she isnt coming to you, and why she bit. I would give her some time to settle in. Make sure she has lots of hiding spots. I would continue to handle her - otherwise she is going to learn that when she doesnt want to be handled all she will have to do is bite to get her way.

When I moved my hedgies in to the C&C duplex, they both were a little ancy, and not their normal friendly selves for a couple of days.

I agree with Laura (prettyhate).

How old is she? How long have you had her? What's her name? What type of enviroment did she come from?
A little more information please.

Yes I Did Type It In Wrong, 8'long, 5'wide, 4'tall, Sorry, She is 1.5 yrs old and purchased from a large pet store. She wasn't entirely friendly when we got her(about 7mos. ago)but warmed up to us rather quickly. I was bringing her out to work and stuff and she let me handle her quite easily, until her new castle. It's been a week and no improvement. I may try moving her back to the small cage eventually, but I don't want to upset her even more so there she stays, for now.

I wonder if she isn't warm enough in the larger cage. Just being a slight bit cooler than what she is used to would make her grumpier. :)
