WTF!?

Made a choc cake from scratch last night. Not my first cake by any means. Followed the directions to a T. The recipe called for shortening, so I grabbed the butter flavored crisco, but I suspect that vegetable oil would have been the way to go.

The cake is SERIOUSLY dry and falls apart. Does taste awful but waaaaaaaay too dry. :Pukey:

I was thinking there might be some hope for saving it, though. Can anyone think of something I could drizzle down into the cake to give it some moisture? Kinda like a watery/fudgy concoction??? :slurp:

I got an idea! :i: How about using some Bailey's Irish Cream or Captain Morgan's Rum? Just don't go driving anywhere after dessert.

Actually, my home-ec. class in High School made a cake with mayo in it! it was shockingly good and you could not taste the mayo at ALL but it sure was good...mmmm
I can fish out the recipe if you want but most people say "EWH! MAYO IN CAKE?!" but it surprised me!

you could turn it into a pudding cake.... I forget how to do it, but you can poke holes with the end of a wooden spoon and pour pudding over the top of it.
