I think this is an excellent forum, not only because of the endless, excellent advice, but also because of the ability to search past threads.
I had some worries about my hedgies skin. They do not scratch, but their skin seems flaky. So, I did a search and found some helpful information. Certainly better than asking the same questions over and over again and having members get tired of answering them. The search ability on this forum is a wonderful tool.
Thanks!

I think so too Jenn! I am very grateful that we have experienced breeders and members who are willing to share such helpful information. I've learned so much myself from this forum :)

Kudos to you for doing a search! Its so much nicer for everyone- the older members dont get tired of answering the same questions again and again, and the person asking the question can find 10 times more info! Everyone wins!
Welcome to the board!

I went and bought some Vitamin E capsules to use on their flaky skin. But, I couldn't find the answer to my question.
How often do I apply Vitamin E to the hedgehogs skin?

You can apply it as often as needed- that may be once or twice a day, or only once a week. When my boy Murdoc had REALLY bad skin I gave him a good warm bath first with some oatmeal in the water. I used a toothbrush to gently scrub off as much of the dead skin as possible, and then applied the vitamin E twice daily for the first week. Within a few days I could see a HUGE difference, and then cut back on the applications.
