What kind of fruits and veggies do people feed their hedgies?
How often?
I've read that people feed veggeis and fruits but I can't find what kind anywhere.
Thanks!

I give Razzle mostly babyfood fruits and veggies, and sometimes the occassional bit of fresh banana if I have some in the house. He's not big on veggies by themselves, but if it's a jar of babyfood like "beef & vegetables" or "chicken & sweet potato", he'll eat it. But fresh ripe pear, peaches, mashed up cooked carrots, potatoes are all good. I've read that citrus fruits are a no-no, but I'm not sure why (too acidic perhaps?) Just remember, all hedgies have their own tastes, so what one hedgie loves, another will turn his nose up at!

Some of Chloe's favorites include:
-Potatoes
-Mashed Squash
-Peas (if I squeeze the inards out)
-Cooked carrots
-Anything pumpkin
My family is used to sharing dinner with pets. My cockatiel gets full roam of the table. So when I eat dinner, I have Chloe in a hedgie bag on my lap. She gets whatever I think she may like. Some nights that may include some meat and a veggie, just a veggie, or nothing at all. So I'd say try feeding a variety of foods in addition to her kibble 2-3 times a week. The best thing is to just experiment.

Skittles LOVES grapes. The only problem is he has trouble with the peels, so I have to peel the grapes before I give them to him. :|

Pringle liked carrots, peas, pears, and applesauce. He liked the Gerber jar of Chicken and Pears and Beef and Carrots. I didn't want to give him string beans or peppers, b\c I dont like them!!!

the ONLY fruit or veggie I've found that Juni will even come close to is corn, and he'll only eat like 2 kernels before he decides he doesn't like it...I keep trying though! Pierce hasn't been exposed to any fruits or veggies at all yet, the breeder told us no treats for the first month (anyone else ever hear anything like that?)
