I just got my sweet little lovey named Linus on Sunday. I got him from a breeder so he was surrounded by other chinnies. His disposition is very good for only having him 5 days but I wonder if he is lonely since he is the only chin around for miles. Has anyone used the Cuddle Buddy on ChinWorld or anything similar? Do they work? Are they safe? My daughter's hamster, Indy, died in January when she ate a piece of string which got caught up in her intestines, causing an inch of them to die and we had to put her down. I am very leary of letting Linus play with something that may hurt his digestive tract. (Or anything else, for that matter!) Any replies would be appreciated. Also, his poo seems to have gotten longer, darker, but not "wet" like diarrhea since he's been here. I'm feeding the pellets and hay cubes the breeder sent with us, along with some loose timothy hay, which he seems to love. Thanks all!

I have used the cuddle buddy a few times in chi-chi's cage....my advice it if you get one to cut out the pink strings they used for the mouth...chins can very easily chew these off!!! Other than that I have had no other problems. Chi-chi seemed interested in it for awhile playing with it then ingnored it. So time to time I will put it in then take it out. Everytime I put it back in his cage he acts like its a new toy! LOL

I bought one for each of my boys some time ago. One of them loves it, and the other only uses it some times. I think the difference comes down to how they were raised before you. My second chin was raised with a cage mate, and like to cuddle. My first one was solo for a while, and is not a big coddler. Their eyes will be chewed off at some point. With Chins it's only a matter of time. My boys have had no adverse effects related to the cuddle buddies.

I use cuddle buddies when weaning, or with a chin who's in quarentine (I wash the buddy at the end of quarentine), or with a chin who's being isolated because of a fight and needs healing time.
I had a pile of two young chins and a cuddle buddie the other morning -- was very cute!!
