Hey Amanda, and welcome to the forum. These guys are almost always very helpful and will rarely stear you wrong. If someone does steer you wrong, someone else is likely to correct the mistake very quickly. Good luck on future posts!

Hi, I'm still new too but you're right this site has a ton of info. :) Did you say you were getting your first chin(just 1?) Well it may be just the one now but I bet you that before long you'll have another. ;) You start with excuses at first to yourself by saying oh my chin is lonely and needs a roomate. Which is what happened in my case, but then it just keeps on going from there. For example using the excuse that you don't want your new chin to fly on the plane all by themselves: he needs company! Then from there on the excuses stop and you just realize that your hopelessly addicted to the little critters. They sure know how to melt my heart. Good luck!!! ,Julie

Welcome! Can't wait to hear about your first chinchilla. Glad you learned a lot more new things Amanda. What makes this forum interesting is that you learn something new practically everyday.

Welcome Amanda. I have been a member here for a few months and have found it very helpful. You will love the company of a chinchilla. They are a pet like no other, IMO. But it's not all just fun, they are A LOT to care for...as I have learned. I would love to see pics once you get him/her. :)

What's shakin' Amanda?

Not much that hasn't been said already. We come in all shapes and forms 'round here, mostly good ones.

Please ask questions, and if you search a little, you can find out more information that you ever expected. Most of it useful, but there's also recipie threads and movie review threads. Why? Because even talking about chinchillas 24/7 gets a little stale.

Regardless, welcome, and post some pictures. We're all suckers for chinchilla pictures.
