Hi, i'm new to the website and I was thinking about geting a hedgie, I heard somewhere that they are illegal in fairfax county virginia? Is this true? Because i've wanted a hedgehog since I was really little and I didnt know people actually sold them as pets untill a couple weeks ago and have been doing research on them since.

I also have a couple questions, I heard hedgies poop alot and that you can't litter train all of them, but how do you litter train them? And i've seen pictures of hedgie cages with liners instead of bedding, do they poo on these liners? Wouldnt that smell alot more?

Another question, where do most of you get your hedgies? I'm having trouble with where to find one, the closest breeder I've seen is like a 4 hour drive away and to ship one would be an extra 160 dollars from most websites I've been to.

They are illegal in Fairfax but if you talk to Super Chin (Lance) will tell you he's working on changing that. There is a breeder is VA beach and one in MD. Those are your closest breeders.

Yes they poop alot.

Hi, i'm Lance. You can PM me with any other questions you have. :) There are actually two breeders somewhere near Fairfax. Amy Cartridge (I think that's how you spell her name) who lives in Newport News, and Stasi who lives in Joppa, Maryland, north of Baltimore. She just moved from Alaska. :)
