We just tried silkies for the first time yesterday...Zeek loves them! He wanted to demonstrate how to properly eat one (for all those worm squeamish hedgies out there):slurp:

I'm thinking it must be the silkies. Since we started giving them to Zeek, he has had WAY more energy at night. Last night, he went on a wheeling frenzy and somehow managed to rearrange his entire cage too. He also stays up till about 7:30 or 8 instead of 6-6:30.

Silkworms are adored at this household (well, by the hedgies at least) - and they're better for the quilled kids than wax worms or mealworms, being lower in fat (or so I've been told). I feel a bit weird with their "soft" texture - I'm always afraid I'll squish 'em - but the hedgies aren't so particular. Laura
