This is a stupid question, sorry, but when do you change HH food and water, like once a day, at night, every other day, etc?

Does anyone freeze or refridgerate their food, is that a good idea to keep it longer?

And how much food should I feed a HH? Like tablespoons, teaspoons, or just fill up the bowl and what she doesn't eat trash?

Thanks

I make sure my hedgehogs have fresh water each morning and evening. They are fed once a day around 5:00 PM. Any uneaten food is removed each day before adding anything new.

I keep my food in plastic storage containers in my refrigerator to keep it fresh.

I always give a very small handful of food (Spikes Delite & Insectivore Diet) each day. It probably amounts to two teaspoons. Approximately three times a week I mix in some fresh tidbits like meat, vegetables, egg, etc.

I change food and water every night. I also clean the water bowl (with soap and hot water) every other night, and the food bowl every 3 days. I have heard of some people freezing food, but I just keep mine in an airtight container.

The amount of food depends on your hedgie. For the first few nights, I'd fill the whole bowl up, and from there estimate how much food you need. If the next night there's a lot of leftover food, put a little less, if there's very little to none, add some more. You'll get an idea of how much your hedgie eats after a while.
